Dancing with the Stars returned to ABC on Monday night for the first look at the new contestants on the reality show. The fun cast who made plenty of noise over the past few weeks getting ready for their first dance finally emerged and brought the stage to life.
Premiering for the first dance, Ron Artest was the leading dancer on the ballroom but ended up on the bottom of the leaderboard. Combining the steps learned over the weeks for a judge’s score along with the fans votes, the first week is all about becoming familiar with the contestants so they can share their dancing journey with the fans in the weeks ahead.
At first glance, there was much dancing to improve for the contestants on the show, but the crash course of the first steps are always rough, and the pressure is on, too. Someone will be eliminated on Tuesday night, and their journey will end before it even began.
Here are the scores for the premiere dances:
Ron Artest was paired with pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd. Performing their first dance, the Cha Cha, for a total score of 14 from the judges, this team has room for improvement.
Rob Kardashian was paired with pro dancer Cheryl Burke. Performing the Viennese Waltz, their total score was 16 and second from the bottom.
Kristin Cavallari was paired with professional dancer Mark Ballas. Their final score was 19, and it appears she is a judge's favorite.
