"In 1971, US President Richard Nixon declared war on cancer; the National Cancer Act was enacted and the national cancer program was born. An impressive $1.6 billion dollars were allocated to the program for the first three years alone, and its director even reported directly to the President.
So, after 40 years, how has the war on cancer fared?
Rather than decreasing, cancer rates have increased during the last 40 years, and now surpass heart disease as the number one killer of Americans between the ages of 45 to 74. According to statistics detailed in the film, one in three women, and one in two men will now get some form of cancer in their lifetime! "
This is a quote from an article written by Dr. Mercola of Mercola.com in his rather riveting article called The Great Cancer Hoax Part II: The Brilliant Cure the FDA Tried Their Best to Shut Down... which you can read in full at the link below.
Dr. Mercola has concluded that Richard Nixon's so called "war on cancer" has been a "MASSIVE failure"
Well I guess if it is a war someone wins and some one loses or it goes on indefinitely like the Afghan war and Iraq wars taking lives and creating massive collateral damage.
The article is based on the featured documentary Cut, Poison, Burn.
The documentary which I have watched is very powerful. It is called Cut,Poison,Burn which can be viewed at the link below is free for you to preview to September 24th.
It tells of "the struggles of Jim and Donna Navarro, whose young son was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. The conventional treatment methods, which included potent chemotherapy drugs and radiation, offered virtually no hope. Even if their son survived the treatment, side effects could include hearing loss, brain damage, cumulative reduction in IQ and other cancers, just to name a few."
It tells of the tough decisions the parents had to make in getting care, treatments for their son's survival and all the related FDA,Child Services, Big Pharma and other bureaucratic challenges encountered.
Based on what we know about corporate greed, lobbying, the FDA and everything else it is easy to agree or believe that their involvement is a reason for the failure on the "War on Cancer"
Dr. Mercola puts it quite bluntly his reason for the failure of the War on Cancer. He writes "Greed bordering on the grotesque has been allowed to rule the game here, and the primary beneficiaries of this 40-year long "war" are pharmaceutical companies and the tremendously profitable cancer industry as a whole, including so-called "non-profit" organizations like the American Cancer Society.
What a bummer!
Many people do see it this way, I have had loved ones die from cancer after going through rounds of chemo and rounds of radiation and have others who are survivors having used natural medicine with a changed diet and reduced stress and prayer.
It is about time that the FDA,big Pharma and other organisations change their thinking from profit making to healthcare .They should legislatively allow people to choose what method of treatment they want to get better be it chemo, natural health or a combination.
This is eye opening and again brings home the point that we are all responsible for our health and should not let others decide what is best for us especially when the recommendation from the others is motivated by greed.
