The so-called Quartet of Middle East Peace in New York meets to agree the strategy to follow in the negotiations to come until Friday, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) present his application to become a full member of the UN.

The special envoy of the Quartet comprising the United States, Russia, the European Union and the UN, the former Prime Minister Tony Blair said that "direct negotiations" is the best way to overcome the situation created since the announcement of Palestine.

The PNA President Mahmoud Abbas said Friday that September 23 brought before the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, a request that Palestine becomes a full member state of the international organization.

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and the EU High Representative for European foreign policy, Catherine Ashton, met in New York, but did not report the outcome of their talks.
