Radio Israel said that Deputy Regional Development Minister Ayoub Kara from the Likud party Ayoob Kara is under investigation for sexual harassment of a female employee in the Israeli prime minister’s office.
Army Radio reported that the victim filed the complaint six months ago against Kara, who serves as Deputy Minister for Development of the Negev and Galilee in the Israeli cabinet, over abusive language and obscene acts.
The police received permission from the State Prosecution to investigate Kara, and he will soon be summoned to a questioning under warning.
According to Radio, for six months Israeli police have been investigating whether Kara indeed sexually harassed the complainant, known as S.
Ayoub Kara denied all allegations that he sexually harassed an employee of the Prime Minister’s Office.Kara’s spokesman called the claims against Kara “political assassination” that “will be revealed as nothing but an over-inflated balloon.
Everyone that works with [Kara] is male.Kara’s spokesman added.
Kara was accused of raping a woman in his office in 2000, but no indictment was issued against him in the case.
