
KARACHI: Heavy rains in several districts of Sindh for the last four to five days have killed around 66 people, including nine children, and devastated crops, livestock and disrupted the communication system, according to officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Rains have affected over two million people in 15 districts out of a total of 23 districts. Mirpurkhas, Badin, Tando Mohammed Khan, Benazirabad (formerly Nawabshah) and Khairpur districts were the most affected.
Many roads and streets in the city went inundated as heavy rains lashed Karachi on Sunday afternoon, creating traffic jams and widespread power outages in various areas.
