Central Luzon, Philippines
The saltwater crocodile now, named Lolong put Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, Mindanao on the world map after its capture about a week ago. It had grown too big sufficiently described as a “giant croc”. Its tremendous size mirrors forth the greed and voracity to prey on every small and large living creature in its habitat and amassed them altogether into its great body. Its ferocity and unbeatable strength and power enabled it to subjugate and dominate creatures roaming within its sphere of influence who all succumbed to its deceptive and devouring mouth equipped with fearful teeth and fangs of death that made it “Lord” in its kingdom.
The recent and heavily publicized trapping of Lolong in Bunawan is symbolic of an end of a long era of greed, unchecked lifestyle that allowed it to increase tremendously in body mass; punctuated the unreckoned periods of thievery, corruption and ravaging hostility against any living creature that crossed its Way.
Now, Lolong is in man’s captivity lonely, sad and lost good appetite to eat. It must be in a state of restitution, repenting and feeling sorry for all the sins and misdeeds it had committed against those it devoured and destroyed. It must have realized that, it had stolen much wealth that angered the remaining constituents courageous enough to expel it out of the dominion and sphere where it dwelled for long, long time and ruled over them with seemingly unceasing power and might. Lolong is a captive who could not do otherwise than to resist with heightened arrogance and struggle to free itself from the shackles of man’s wrath. Nevertheless, it learned how to bow with respect and in utmost humility to the full force of man’s dominion begging for forgiveness and clemency.
When the corrupt in a beasts like Lolong can honestly surrender to man, why men in low and high offices of the public trust who committed lolongonoic sins, lapses and shortcomings can’t do what Lolong did to its constituents.
Certainly, there are Lolongs in small and big seas of the Bureaucracy. In the immediate past, there was a great Lolong who was under arrest for about seven years (7) but, in the end his captor pardoned him. The captor of the pardoned Lolong is now an object to become a Lolang soon as she will fully recover from surgical operation. Likewise, the husband of the Lolang candidate is also, a prospective Lolong being sought after by a Senate Investigation Committee. In the police and military organizations there had been several names tagged as Lolongs but clarity of resolutions of cases against them are yet, to be established which made them the hanging Lolongs.
Hopefully, the principal Lolong or Lolang of the 2004 election mess will be pinpointed to be trapped befitting a “Lolong or Lolang” due to her sins against the constituents in order to once and for all reestablish the faith of the Filipino people in their electoral process.
