"Spartacus: Blood and Sand" lead star Andy Whitfield passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the age of 39 in Sydney, Australia. He died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma after an eight-month battle. Whitfield was born in Wales and moved to Australia in 1999.
