Washington Dulles International Airport Tribute

The news came from Washington that Authorities has closed the Dulles International Airport near Washington because of the discovery of a suspicious object, but later said no explosives were found.

Washington and New York are on an alert to any security problem on the eve of the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center carried out by al Qaeda militants used hijacked airliners.

Partial closure of the Dulles began about 16.30 local time (2030 GMT) after a dog that specializes in the detection of explosives identified an article of cargo that would be on a plane.

Four hours later, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration said the cargo was not checked but nothing has been found in it.

Rob Dulles spokesman Yingling said the airport, about 35 miles west of Washington, was operating normally after some planes were diverted to other doors for their arrivals and departures.
