KUALA TERENGGANU Sept 10 - Mohd. Firdaus Samsudin @ Mustapha, 23, made history as the first native to extend his study at University of Oxford in United Kingdom next year.
Second child of four siblings who born from Kampung Kemat, Hulu Terengganu will be pursuing a two-year master's degree majoring in biochemistry. He was awarded as Top Student in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) at national level during 2005 was recently the first-class degree in biotechnology at Imperial College London for three years.
Mohd. Firdaus, retired government's son is scheduled to begin studies at a most prestigious university in the world in October. Former student of Sultan Mahmud Science School said he would be committed to continue their studies there, since his ambition to be a scientist.
"Thanks to God, my family and thankful to state government especially the Terengganu Foundation (YT), which provides loans," he said.
Firdaus said during attend celebration event for those selected students will study abroad and recieve money support at the Ministers residence in Seri Iman, here.
