Kuala Lumpur, Sept 10 - A total of 32 areas in this country put under control since a moderate unhealthy air quality while others 19 regions remark good Air Pollutant Index (API) as at 11 this morning.
Department of Environment (DOE) reported no areas recorded unhealthy API.
Five regions recorded the highest API is Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (90); Batu Muda,Kuala Lumpur (80), Petaling Jaya and Banting in Selangor to register 79, respectively, and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (78), according to the DOE in its website.
API readings at a level between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 100(moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201 300 (very unhealthy) and above 301hazardous.
According to DOE hazy conditions are expected to continue for next few days and advised people not involved in open burning activities and extinguish small fires work.
