The ungodly are not so: But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. – Psalm 1:4 KJV

There is a certain way that is just so. It is the way God wants us to be. He Himself says, that when we are this way -- reading His Word and taking delight in His ways -- we will be established, strong, fortified, unmoveable, like the Rock. He Himself says, the ungodly are not so.

The Lord God Almighty cares for His creation. He is intimately in love with us. Jesus never leaves nor forsakes any soul. Many people leave and forsake Him though. In doing so, they forsake their own lives and livelihood.

Many people want to be like Cain. They have heard the very voice of God. They have offered God a sacrifice. They will lift their hands and their voices in what seems to be worship of the Almighty God. They themselves are convinced that they are God's children, His beloved, the godly ones in the earth. But, like Cain, they choose to do their own will, their own way, instead of God's will, the Lord's way. In the end, they do not serve the Lord God, but their father, the devil, who has sinned from the beginning.

It's sad. The Lord God does not want anyone to perish. But many will. The Lord God doesn't want any to be turned into Hell. But many will walk away from Jesus. The Lord doesn't want any of His creation to turn against Him and choose their own destruction. But countless numbers will.

Now, here's the really frightening part. Many, just like Cain, will convince themselves that they are serving God, though they are not. They will cry out on the Last Day with fervent emotion and sincerity of heart, “Lord! Lord! Didn't we?” Didn't we do all these things in Your name? Were we not Christians? Didn't we eat and drink with You? Jesus will turn and say to this multitute of people, more than you and I can number, I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.” (Luke 13:27)

The righteous meditates in God's Law all day long. The righteous practices doing what God's Word says, all day long. The righteous is constantly seeking out and doing the Father's will. The ungodly are not so.

There is a way that is just so. There is a way that God wants His people to live. This is a way that leads to life. It is a narrow way. Few will find it, because few will seek it wholeheartedly.

The ungodly are not so. They do not seek the will and the way of the Father. Rather, they seek their own way. And they seek to be called children of God, even though they do not obey the Lord God. Their way is the way that looks good and godly to men, but leads to death and eternal torments.

Jesus is calling today. He doesn't want any to perish. He has shown us all the way to the Father, the way to Eternal Life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is God.

If we truly love Him, we will keep His commandments. The Bible says that if we claim to love Him and do not keep His commandments, the truth is not in us. We may have some knowledge of the truth, but if we don't do what God's Word says, then the Bible says that the truth is not in us. If we belong to Jesus, if we are His, if we are saved, we will do what His Word says to do.

Jesus is calling.
