The press shelves in Doncaster last night showed a front page article about a case of an assistant verger in Wakefield cathedral accused of sex abusing and doing violence to a lady. It is in court and developing into a terrible business.

You wonder how many years the dioceses have done similar sex abuse cases and had them covered up. It is shameful that after recent exposure of church related sex abuse cases hitting the press, the this man may have dared abuse as if deaf to reports of abusers getting into trouble.

I was knocked deluded and not allowed to talk to Wakefield diocese top canon and wife about being a one off stalker victim in the period 98-2003 after which I left church. They did not help me challenge a hard NHS and police who kicked me deluded as victim despite my common sense and respect for others' safety. They did not talk to me on the quiet or ask if I had any hope of the other services coming clean. I was prayed for with Canon wife in St Georges sideroom Barnsley, along with her mate a teacher, and not allowed to say I was not deluded in 2002/3 period. All very ominous.

How many people have been abused by clerics and staff in Wakefield and Sheffield cathedrals and diocese and have never dared come forward? Although the penal system is terrible and some may try to get this currently accused man off the hook, if honesty comes out and it is said he has done it, will others dare expose officials within these dioceses at what is still an unmentionable subject to them?

Often people who hit top jobs are not totally moral but get on better than vulnerable innocent. They say this man was a top recent music graduate. Yet in weakness he may have done this. Admittedly if he genuinely is innocent he will be suffering terribly. What will come out in the wash? Hopefully the truth. If the diocese have done this kind of thing for years it must stop. They must respect human innocence and honesty and not pulverise the vulnerable.
