9.1.11]--A ten-year old boy from a small Ohio town, now lives his life as a girl. In this fascinating real-life story aired on ABC's Thursday night special Primetime Nightline, viewers watched extraordinary families reveal intimate parts of their lives.
One such family told of their 10-year-old son Jack, who now lives as Jackie, a happy pubescent girl.
In the attached video above, you can see Jackie, looking very much like a girl, recount her story. She said since she was a toddler, she knew she wasn't a boy.
He parents also said they knew their little boy was different for he always wanted to dress in little girls pink dresses and play with dolls.
His parents said they though he was Gay at first and children at school teased him, calling him "Gay boy."
When Jack was ten, his parents said he came to them and said simply, "I cannot do this anymore." He was referring to his life as a boy.
From then on the parents made the decision that their child's happiness came before anything else and allowed him to live openly as a girl. Before, she had dressed up at home but attended school in boy's attire.
Jackie's parents Jennifer and John say she is now happier and has many more friends but her grandfather is having a harder time accepting his grandson as his granddaughter.
Jackie has an older sister her accepts her for who she is.
What do you think: do you accept her for who she says she is or do you think she is too young to make this decision--furthermore, do you think it will adversely affect her life later on?
