We have iPhones, iPods and now the most solid of them all, the iPlank.
Without of the picture you just never know what Apple will come up with next. Although, the iPlank was actually invented by some very innovative entrepreneurs.
You see, the iPlank inventors didn't even need Steve or Apple. They had their invention and didn't need any help, gosh darnit, they were going to sell it themselves!
So, the creative ones went to a McDonald's parking lot and started their marketing campaign. All they needed was an unsuspecting individual looking for a good deal and they were set.
As reported by The Smoking Gun, Ashley McDowell, was at the golden arches restaurant when two men asked her if she wanted to buy an iPad. They showed her a brand new iPad and told her they’d give her one just like it for $300.
She must've been pretty happy with herself when she told them she only had $180 and would purchase one at that price. The men agreed to part with one of them they had bought in bulk stating that's why they could sell them so cheap. They took the box out of their Impala trunk and handed it to her.
Since Ashley was 22 years old she had apparently not experienced the prospect that dishonesty could be part of this iDumb deal. Poor Ashley waited a few and opened the box only to find a piece of wood painted black and covered in Apple and Best Buy stickers.
Authorities say the scam is unusual only in that the crooks actually took the time to create a copy of the iPad out of a plank of wood instead of just giving her an empty box.
The good news is Ashley can say for $180 she learned a hard life lesson---never buy from iThieves in a parking lot!
