DSK PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN NEW YORK COURT TO RAPE CHARGES

The drug kingpin of Jamaica Christopher 'Dudus' Coke pleaded guilty to charges of extortion, assault and promotion of organized crime in a court in New York as part of a deal to avoid imprisonment.

That deal includes that removed the most serious charges against him, including his alleged involvement in the death of a drug dealer in New York in 2007.

The judge will issue its ruling, which can be up to 23 years in prison on 8 December.

The Jamaican, 42, was arrested in June last year in Kingston. The operation of his capture spread over five weeks and sparked a wave of violence that left dozens dead.

U.S. officials describe it as one of the world's most dangerous criminals, while to his followers is a social leader.
