An Australian has the jewelry to his wife accidentally in the total value of the equivalent of 37,000 euros thrown in the trash. To hide the valuables from potential burglars, he and his wife had kept the jewelry in plastic bags, reports the man who gave his name only as Geoff, the newspaper "Brisbane Courier-Mail."
Just before a planned move last week, he had cleaned up the house and asked his children to bring him all the garbage so he could throw it in the bin. Shortly after his wife called him at work and asked for the bags. "I have become very bad," Geoff described his reaction. The value of property included necklaces, bracelets and gold bullion.
A spokesman for the regional administration of Sunshine Coast, said there was little hope of finding the jewels, there landed in the garbage dumps of the environment thousands of tons of waste per week. Geoff said his wife put away the loss pretty well, but his friends showed little mercy: "They call me constantly with slogans like 'Hey buddy, the gold price has just risen.'"
