Michael Jackson would have been 53 years-old today had he lived to see it. Unfortunately Jackson died on June 25, 2009 after it was said that his personal doctor injected him an overdose of pain medication, that normally is only seen during surgery.
Millions of fans worldwide mourned his death as they too celebrate his birthday today. Jackson's children, Paris, Prince and Blanket and Jackson's father, Joseph visited the late pop star's boyhood home in Gary, Indiana to celebrate what would have been his 53rd birthday.
Michael Jackson's "the Immortal" kicks off in Montreal on Oct. 2 and will travel around the globe showcasing choreography that pays tribute to the iconic moves of MJ and his musical legacy.
Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert, set to take place Oct. 8 in Wales' 75,000-capacity Millennium Stadium, will feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Smokey Robinson and Ne-Yo, though its proximity to the Sept. 20 manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray has troubled some of Jackson's fans and family.
Ticket prices range in price from 55 to 240 pounds ($90-360), went on sale Wednesday. The concert is scheduled to be broadcast around the world on paid television channels.
