The Ethiopian Famine

African leaders meet Thursday in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, to raise funds to help twelve million people affected by famine and drought in the Horn of Africa.

United States, United Kingdom, China, Japan, Brazil and Turkey pledged money as the authorities attending a conference of Islamic countries.

However, several African governments have been criticized for its citizens by failing to make a contribution when it worthwhile.
