The National Cathedral and the Embassy of Ecuador are among the damaged buildings in Washington after the earthquake of 5.9 magnitude that struck the U.S. East Coast Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

Federal authorities reported that two nuclear reactors were switched off near the epicenter of the earthquake in Virginia, but not reported any damage.

Flights from airports John F. Kennedy and Newark in New York were delayed but were resumed soon after.

Meanwhile, Amtrak's train network slowed down its trains and warned passengers to expect delays, as well as the Metro public transportation system.
