Life standstill in karachi on ‘day of mourning’

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is observing ‘day of peaceful mourning’ today (Tuesday) across the country and requested all citizens to show solidarity against the killings in Karachi.

The city is facing a complete shutdown as traders, transporters and fuel station owners decided to keep their regular operations closed after the MQM announced that a ‘day of mourning’ would be observed against the ongoing wave of violence that has claimed nearly 100 lives in less than a week.

Hyderabad is also facing complete wheel-jam in the city while in Sukkur, all the business activities are closed and no transport is available causing office workers severe problem to reach their offices.

Mirpur Khas and Tando Allahyar were also wearing deserted look on the mourning day while tyres were also burnt in different areas of Tando Allahyar in protest.
