Kate Winslet and her family on their Caribbean vacation in Richard Branson's estate had a scary nigth due to a fire. The award winning actress— along with her children — was forced to evacuate the island.
Richard confirmed to the Associated Press that Kate was staying in the eight-bedroom Great House on Necker, his private isle in the British Virgin Islands.
He was staying on another property 100 yards away with his wife Joan and son Sam, 25, when the fire broke out around 4 a.m., caused by wind and lightning.
Richard confirmed everyone escaped safely.
“Kate Winslet, her boyfriend and her family were there…. and some of her friends were also staying,” he said in a statement. “My mother was there, and they managed to get her out and she is fine.”
Kate’s rep, Sara Keene, confirmed that the actress and her family were unharmed.
