A reindeer herder had found what scientists are calling a sensation of global significance. A baby wooly mammoth was found sticking out of the permafrost in Russia's Arctic in near perfect condition.

The herder reported it was found in as near perfect condition as the 40,000 year old Lyuba found 4 years ago. An expedition has set out to confirm the find which is in the same area as the other mammoth.

Scientists were stunned when Lyuba was discovered and, with the exception of her hair, was perfectly intact including her organs and skin. Mammoths have been extinct since the time of the last Ice Age.

The discovery is going to be flown to Salekhard where there are facilities to keep it in a cooler to prevent decomposition.
