
Reuters reported North Korean leader Kim Jong Il on Saturday held talks with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev during his visit to Russia, the first public nine years ago.
The Kremlin said in a statement that the talks between Medvedev and Jong Il will be the most important event of the latter during a visit to Russia. He added that the North Korean visitors will spend time in the Russian Far East and Siberia.
The talks,will focus expected to take place in Siberia on the nuclear program of North Korea and economic projects between Moscow and Pyongyang, in addition to the growing food crisis in North Korea.
A government source told South Korea's Yonhap News Agency that Kim Jong-South arrived Saturday morning to the city of Khasan located in eastern Russia on a special dropper, after crossing the border between the two countries.
Yonhap said that the arrival of North Korean leader was delayed by more than two hours behind schedule, noting that it is expected to remain in Russia a week.
The Kim Jong-il's latest visit to Russia in 2002 and met with then President Vladimir Putin, who became prime minister, in Vladivostok, Russian Far East.
The Russian media and other Japanese have said that Kim will visit Vladivostok in June 30 or the first in July for a summit with Russian President, but the visit did take place.
The Yonhap news agency quoted Russian sources as the time that the two sides failed to Ogheiaha after convergence of views on many of the points that were covered in the consultations.
Kim's visit to Russia today after he visited China three times in less than a year, with the knowledge that Russia and China are two of the five countries participating in the talks with Pyongyang to the United States, Japan and South Korea.
North Korea is eager to obtain economic aid because of their suffering because of floods and a devastating economic sanctions led by the United States over Pyongyang's program to develop nuclear weapons secret.
In the context of international aid and announced that the U.S. State Department said on Friday it would send aid worth around 900 thousand dollars to Pyongyang through private organizations, said that this aid will go to flood victims September last in the country.
After hours of this decision the U.S., North Korea announced in turn, accepted an American offer of talks on the resumption of the process of restoring the United States the remains of soldiers who were killed in the 1950-1953 Korean War.
According to the Korean Central News Agency quoted the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the armies of the two countries were holding discussions on these arrangements.
