Breaking News Update: 6 Killed, Including Fed Judge. Congresswoman and 11 Others Wounded In AZ Shooting
January 8, 2011, Tucson AZ]
UPDATE: A total of 18 people have reportedly been shot in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday. 6 have reportedly died, including one 9 year old little girl, Christina Green, 63 year old Chief Federal Judge John Roll, 30 year old Gabe Zimmerman, a staffer of Rep. Gifford, 76-year-old Dorthy Murray, 76-year-old Dorwin Stoddard and 79-year-old Phyllis Scheck.
Dem. Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, along with 5 others, are in critical condition at the University Medical Center in Tucson, after undergoing surgery. She is said to still be fighting for her life. The bullet reportedly passed through Rep. Gifford's brain.
The gunman is in police custody, reports CNN. His name has not been given in their report but he is said to be around 22 to 23 years old. Other sources have reported the shooter to be Jared Loughner, who had released weird and unstable videos on Youtube (see attached video);

January 8, 2011, Tucson, AZ]-----Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was critically shot in the head at a grocery store in Tucson, Arizona and is now undergoing surgery.
News reports including CNN and The AP, have reported a Federal Judge and 10 others, have also been wounded in the shootout that occurred on Saturday. The details are still hazy and some conflicting reports have hit the media circuit. I will bring you updates as they unfold and become clear. Below is what I have gleaned so far:
The 40 year old Congresswoman was reportedly holding a constituent meeting around 10 a.m. MST, outside of a Safeway grocery store, when the shooting began.
A staffer of the Congresswoman Giffords may have been killed, but no confirmation on this is available, states CNN.
The perpetrator/s or motive for the shooting, is not yet known for the investigation is still unfolding.
House speaker Boehner is said to be "horrified" by the shooting, adding,"An attack on one who serves is an attack on all who serve--Acts and threats of violence against public officials have no place in our society.""
