Flappy Bird to be removed from iTunes store in less than 24 hours

The owner of Flappy Bird has confirmed that he is taking the game off the iTunes store in just 22 hours. News came out today that he has plans to take it down. He explained it all on Twitter, but it just doesn't make a ton of sense.

You can check out the creator on Twitter here. Here are the tweets from today:

  • I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore.
  • It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.
  • I also don't sell 'Flappy Bird', please don't ask.
  • And I still make games.
  • I can call 'Flappy Bird' is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it.

It is really confusing why he would make the decision to take a very popular game like this down from the app store. He is obviously very popular and people are talking about it everywhere. It must just be a bit too much for him to handle.

Do you think that Flappy Bird will really be taken down from the iTunes app store? Sound off in the comments on your thoughts.
