Police make arrest in killing of 12-year-old N.J. girl Autumn Pasquale
New Jersey authorities have made an arrest in the case of 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale. Authorities say two teenaged brothers aged 15 and 17 were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection to the case.
Authorities believe Autumn was lured by the boys to their home and then killed. Police say the motive may have been to get her BMX bike.
Police say they found Autumn's white BMX bike and other items belonging to the girl when they conducted a search of the boys' home early Tuesday.
Initial coroner reports indicate she died from blunt-force trauma and strangulation but said there was no signs of sexual assault. Her body was dumped into a recycling container.
Authorities said the boys turned themselves in early on Tuesday after their mother alerted police after seeing Facebook postings.
"We're strongly considering waiving them to adult court. However, we want to let the process take its part," said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton.
Autumn would have turned 13 next week.
