Real reason Romney will fire Big Bird: 'Sesame Street' is a liberal 'ho' brainwashing children (videos)

I don’t usually watch Fox News or "Fox and Friends," but I knew if I were to investigate this vilifying of decades-old Muppets, the third arm of the Republican Party would be the ideal place to start. When Mitt Romney promised to turn the lights off over at PBS and push Big Bird and his co-workers out into the unemployment line during last Wednesday’s debate, “fiscal responsibility” had nothing to do with his plans, my sleuthing would reveal.

For lo and behold, the road to the GOP presidential promise was paved with conservative talking heads ratcheting up the rhetoric of the “liberal evil” being unleashed over at PBS. You know, teaching kids their phonics, ABCs, while throwing in how to share, care for their fellow human being and prolong the life of the earth they inhabit through recycling and taking care of the environment--all that corrupt "liberal" fare being forced down the throats of America's tiny tots by that "wench of a ho," Sesame Street.

Seeing as Fox has proven to be the mouthpiece of the GOP, what I unearthed now made Mittens threat less puzzling. Many are still wondering why he picked on our giant yellow feathered friend and his amicable, well-intended neighbors. Here is why.

From Lou Dobbs to Eric Bolling and every other host in between over at Fox Business News, the perceived theme of “liberal brainwashing” of our children by the Muppets ran deep and has been smoldering for quite some time. Again, keep in mind, The F-Network is wholly a subsidiary of the Grand Ole Party.

Dobbs, who took a break from his crusade to rid America of all “illegal aliens”(except reportedly those who allegedly groom his horses at his stables), railed against the astronomical sum of $450 million of federal money going towards funding programs on the Public Broadcasting Station.( I thought it was more like the modest sum of $180 million, but I could be wrong). Incidentally, Dobbs also slammed President Obama for wanting to end subsidies to big oil companies. Using that incredible mind-boggling fuzzy math practiced by the GOP, he compared the $7 billion per year or more big oil pockets gets in hand-outs from Uncle Sam, to the 0.012 percent of the budget that PBS gets.

Dobbs doesn’t reserve his ire for Sesame Street and all things PBS; he’s also seen in one of the attached videos by “The Young Turks,” ranting against Dr. Seuss. Yes, the beloved author of children’s books like “Cat in a Hat” and “The “Lorax” which were both made into movies. This time his deep resentment is directed at the latter, which he calls “liberal propaganda.”

I do not know Lou Dobbs exact age but he looks slightly “long in the tooth,” so I’m going to go out on a limb and say he must have been around when the late Dr. Seuss wrote many of his books back in the 1970s. He must have read them to his children or should I say grandchildren, if he has any. So to connect the “Lorax” which was written in 1971, to Occupy Wall Street protesters is beyond absurd.

Here is what Dobbs said about the children’s movie based on Dr. Seuss’s book about saving the rain forest: “Hollywood is once again trying to indoctrinate our children. Two new films this year, plainly with an agenda, plainly demonizing the one-percent and espousing the virtues of green energy policies—the movie is about a creature who speaks for the trees and find rampant industrialism—so where have we all heard this before? Occupy Wall Street, trying to pit the makers against the takers. President Obama keeps repeating that everyone should pay their fair share—the president's liberal friends in Hollywood targeting the younger demographic using animated movies to sell their agenda to children.” (There is much more as you will see if you listen to the entire clip).

This common consensus that “Liberal Hollywood” and “the Leftists” are against corporations and big-moneyed business strikes me as exceedingly odd. Does the Right think they have a monopoly on big dollars? Do they think that all the millionaires and billionaires are on their side? The fact that the liberals are the "takers" and conservatives "the makers" speaks of the mentality of folks like Dobbs--the real "entitled" crowd who feel they deserve big tax breaks because they "carry" this country.

The unbelievable spin doesn’t end there, for Bolling, host of “Follow the Money,” took up where Dobbs left off, spewing more of the same fantastical rhetoric. Speaking to guest Dan Gainor from the Media Research Center, he asked, “Are liberals trying to brainwash your kids against capitalism?”

MRC’s Gainor replied, “It’s amazing how far the left will go just to stoop—just to manipulate your kids—to convince—to give the anti-corporate message. I mean this is a Muppet movie. The only thing green up on that screen should be Kermit the Frog.” I’m assuming they were referring to the last Muppet movie. (as he continues to speak, he does sound like a Lou Dobbs clone doesn’t he? Which can mean only one thing: they appear to be reading from the same handbook of instructions).

Here host Bolling asked another riveting question, which sounded like the first one, but I guess to Mr. Bolling, you can never ask it too many times, “Is liberal Hollywood using class warfare to kind of brainwash our kids?”

Mr. Gainor replied, “Yes, absolutely and they have been doing it for decades. Hollywood, the left, the media, they hate the oil industry. They hate corporate America and so you’ll see all these movies attacking it, whether it’s 'Cars 11,'which was another kid’s movie. The George Clooney movie 'Syriana,' 'There Will be Blood,' –all these movies attacking the oil industry—none of them reminding people what oil means for people…”

During the lengthy spiel on the evil liberal Muppets, the Occupy Wall Street Movement entered the conversation. Gainor attributed the protesters' need to take a stand against what they see as a hijacking of our democracy by corrupt politicians and greedy corporations—as a direct result of brainwashing at the hands of Sesame Street. I told you it was fascinating stuff.

You get the picture. I can’t bring myself to write any more of this drivel; it is making me slightly nauseous. Click on the above video from Media Matters to hear more on Fox conservatives stunning argument on the “Muppet brainwashing” of America’s young minds.

So there you have it. Romney’s altruistic declaration of caring for America and not wanting to saddle our children with a burdensome massive debt to China, was just code words for “I will stop the subversive liberal attacks against my fellow one pecenters in the oil industry, so that they may continue to receive billions in subsidies—which I am not concerned will help blow up the deficit—PBS is the budget-blowing subsidy I am really worried about.

“If they think Sesame Street is a problem, then my job is to remove that problem, regardless of how baseless and ineffective it may be.”
