One Direction fans travel hundreds of miles for fake appearance

There are some really pissed off One Direction fans this week. On Thursday afternoon it was announced on a Top-40 St. Louis, Mo., radio station that the "What Makes You Beautiful" boys were going to make an appearance at Mike Shannon's restaurant in downtown St. Louis on Friday, April 13th, for the Cardinals baseball St. Louis opening day. Turns out, it wasn't true.

Fans flocked to their respected Facebooks and Twitters asking if One Direction was in fact going to be downtown and what time the band was going to show up. Frustrated by the lack of information online they asked the radio station Facebook if One Direction was coming.

The response from the station was totally different from what the DJ announced during the Thursday afternoon show, "No. One Direction will not be at Mike Shannon's. Ryan Seacrest has a contest where you can meet them" was the message to fans on Facebook.

The comment sent 1D fans, that is One Direction for short, spiraling into a frenzy. Fans complained on the station Facebook page that they had already hopped in their vehicle and started their drive from Chicago down to St. Louis for a chance to see One Direction on Friday. One fan let it be known that she heard many One Direction fans were traveling from other states just to see the band in St. Louis and they have no interest in the World Series champions St. Louis Cardinals.

The radio station has not posted a retraction on their website yet about the 1D mistake. About two hours a go, Harry Styles from 1D posted some photos on his Twitter from his time, currently spent, in Australia.

Let's hope One Direction fans who arrived to the Gateway to the west really really like baseball and a massive variety of Anheuser Busch products.
