A woman and her son were shot and killed Friday in Washington County, Utah. The two were victims of domestic abuse. Michelle Jones 42 and Owen Christopher Ellis, 19, died in their residence. Richard Jones, 46, was taken to the University Medical center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He is in stable but critical condition.
Police were called to the quiet residential area after shots were heard on Friday night. Offers state they heard one gunshot upon arrival. Police found bodies in the driveway, garage and in a bedroom. Michelle Jones was the director of training at ContactPoint. Jeremiah Wilson, founder of the company stated, “Without a doubt she had problems with her husband.. She left him for about a year and lived with parents in Reno. ..She returned late last year to work things out. Life was good for a time.”
There is no indication as to what transpired before the shootings. Speculation is that fire was exchanged between the three. There is no evidence this early to indicate that anyone but Richard Jones was the person shooting. Investigators are looking into the couple’s tumultuous past, Michelle Jones call for “time off “ on Friday, and allegations that the son was involved.
