TAMPA, FLORIDA - In the warm Florida sun surrounded by the grazing horses of Ohana Rescue, Carrie Young and Allan Wilson took their wedding vows at the Lake Lindsey Equestrian Center on Sunday afternoon
Groom, Allan Wilson, said he had been looking for his bride for a lifetime and called her "the perfect woman." He added, "I finally met someone that can understand me and the horses."
Carrie Young was at ease in her white lace, calf length wedding gown, surrounded by friends, family and the Ohana Rescue horses.
Allen and Carrie share the common bond of devotion to horses. So much so that the wedding was delayed by the groom, who leapt over a fence into a pasture, (wearing his crisp white wedding shirt) to tend to a horse.
The bride was not shaken by her groom's sudden sprint from the wedding stage. "He's a good man," she said.
More than 50 people attended the event, which included a tour of the Lake Lindsey Equestrian Center, just north of Tampa, Florida, where the non-profit Ohana Rescue is caring for nearly two dozen abused or abandoned horses.
Prior to the wedding ceremony, certificates of appreciation were given out to members of the Ohana horse rescue sponsor program, which helps provide feed and medical services to special needs rescues.
